The Midlands division of the Trinity Mirror Group incorporates the Birmingham Post and Mail, Coventry Newspapers and Midland Weekly Media. August 2008 saw the Birmingham Post and Mail move from Central Birmingham to a new office space in The Fort, just off the M6.
The Fort is one of the Midlands’ most historic landmarks and has become one of its most innovative business locations. Following a multi million pound revitalisation, The Fort offers the most dynamic of environments situated at the heart of Britain’s transport network.
Birmingham Post & Mail’s new office space was built on the penthouse floor, offering spectacular views of the city. Trinity Mirror fitted the whole of the new office space and it has proved to be quite an adventurous new build for the group. It is set to house around 500 members of staff.
The new office offers an open plan landscape and incorporates a monochrome colour-scheme with splashes of block colour in a primary spectrum.
Throughout the office work spaces the ergonomically designed Key chair from Boss was specified in black fabric, a sharp contrast against the white laminate Abak desks provided by Herman Miller.
The stylish Tom and Dick range designed by Mark Gabbertas fill the break-out areas, creating a bold statement in red, blue, green, orange and beige upholstery. Accompanied by the glass topped Kruze coffee tables they provide a perfect informal meeting space and are complemented by colourful contemporary lighting. |
