Leading UK seating manufacturer Boss Design is delighted to have been recognised once again for its sustainable business practice.

Considered the ultimate corporate accolade, Boss Design was recently presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.

Maintaining commercial success whilst delivering tangible sustainability benefits has always been a key priority for Boss Design.  The company was particularly praised by judges for its commitment to embedding sustainability throughout the life-cycle of its range of seating products, and going the extra mile with its operational activities.

Since its origins in 1983, Boss Design has sought to address all aspects of its business activity, to enhance not only the environmental sustainability of its products and business operation, but also to deliver exceptional quality and impeccable levels of service to its customers.

The company received its award in July of this year during a special celebration at its head office in the West Midlands.  The Queen's Local Lord Lieutenant, Mr Paul Sabapathy CBE visited the factory and made the special presentation of the corporate equivalent of a knighthood to Managing Director, Brian Murray in front of company employees, customers and suppliers.  Brian was also delighted to get the opportunity to attend the special evening reception for 2009 Queen's Award winners, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace.

About receiving The Queen's Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, Brian Murray said;

'I am incredibly proud to be the owner of a Queen's Award and am delighted that Boss Design is the only company in our industry to have received the Queen's Award for Sustainable Development.'

He concluded;

'Meeting Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace this year was a real privilege, - as you can imagine she was every bit an impressive and truly inspirational lady.'
