Boss Design Account Manager, Andy Trickey joined more than 36,000 runners over the weekend to run this year’s London Marathon.
By 7pm, 36,549 runners had crossed the finish line in The Mall including Andy who ran the gruelling 26.2 miles in a very respectable three-hours and fifty-eight minutes.
Competing in aid of the charity Help for Heroes which helps those who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts, Andy has so far raised over £2,300. This is an organisation that is very close to Andy's heart, having seen their good work in action when his cousin, an Officer in the Argyle & Southerland Highlanders, was seriously injured in Afghanistan two years ago.
Upon completing the race Andy said;
'The whole experience was exhilarating. To take part in such an iconic race and to run it in under four-hours has always been a personal goal of mine. But to do this and raise money for such a worthy cause is a dream come true.' |
|
Andy concludes;
'The race might be over but my aches and pains and desire to raise even more money has not gone away yet.'
Whilst Andy hasn't yet decided on his next fund raising mission he is more than happy to receive any further donations for his chosen charity 'Help for Heroes'. Andy wishes to thank everyone that has already contributed and reminds us that its not too late to make a donation.
If you would like to donate please contact Andy Trickey directly on 07809 583762 or visit his donation page at www.justgiving.com/Andrew-Trickey
