Boss Design is delighted to be one of the main furniture suppliers for Virgin Trains flagship First Class Lounge at Euston station, London.
Virgin is one of the world's most recognised and respected brands, and its Virgin Trains arm has been established for over 12 years.
2009 saw the complete refurbishment of the Virgin First Class Lounge at Euston Station, London. The project was undertaken by London based Architect practice, Studio Mad, who have worked extensively with Virgin for the past 10 years.
Studio Mad's vision was to create a lounge with specific areas which would facilitate the needs of a wide variety of clientele and offer an aspirational environment, whether travelling for business or pleasure. As a flagship first class lounge for Virgin it warranted an extremely high standard of furniture and finish, which led Studio Mad to work with Sarah Carter, Boss Design's London A&D representative.
The lounge area offers a total of 110 seats which vary depending upon location. Boss products were specified in all areas of the lounge. The ergonomically designed Sona task chair takes precedent at the reception desk, whilst the Dick chair from the Tom, Dick and Harry range, designed by Mark Gabbertas, provides comfortable and spacious seating in the quiet zone. |

The contemporary Kruze chair, one of Boss Design's most popular ranges, designed by David Fox, is a dominant feature of the lounge and is specified in both the cafe and bar areas. Adda, Boss Design's popular breakout collection provides a versatile solution for short stop visits, whilst Zoot and Digit make for comfortable lounge pieces. Delphi, Boss Design's iconic executive chair provides exceptional comfort for working visitors.
Ian Hunt, Senior Project Designer, Studio Mad, reflects on his decision to specify Boss products:
'We were looking for a range of products which would offer variety throughout the lounge yet still feel as though they were part of the same family. Euston is seen as the flagship Virgin station and the lounge needs to reflect this. Therefore the fitout required a much higher standard and we were looking for seating which offered superb quality and longevity which is why we were drawn to Boss Design.'
Mike Arthur, Director of Studio Mad comments on their relationship with Boss Design:
'This was the first time that we have worked with Boss and we felt it ran very smoothly from start to finish. We found the Boss website extremely helpful for downloading all the product information that we needed, such as the product CAD blocks. Both ourselves and Virgin were very pleased with the finished result and felt that the quality of the products from Boss Design exceeded expectations.' |
